In 2026 we Went Wild

Even the extreme unseasonable weather couldn’t dampen the spirit of residents and visitors at the start of this year’s Festival and people still cheerfully turned out in force to support the events. Luckily the weather improved, and, to top it all, we had one of best final weekends ever. On a perfect summer’s day the Festival Parade, with bands, dancers and groups dressed in imaginative and colourful costumes representing this year’s theme of ‘East Preston Goes Wild’, was cheered through the village. The Tug of War was welcomed back by a huge crowd, the fun Dog Show and Party on the Green were a perfect finale to a very successful festival.

The Committee would like to thank the Festival sponsors – Dean Jones Funeral Service, Brennan & Chatterton Estate Agents, East Preston Parish Council, Hares Servicing and Repairs, Jonathan Metliss, Quercus Plant Centre, Graham Butt Estate Agents, the Great Dane Bar, Guess Jewellers, One Stop Stores, Bailiffscourt Hotel, The Butcher & Deli Rustington, Glorious Spa Rustington, the Norfolk Arms, Kamsons Pharmacy, SKB Reflexology and Cooper Adams Estate Agents.

We are also very grateful to East Preston businesses who advertise in the Festival programme and donate raffle prizes; the pubs, clubs and community groups who stage their own events under the umbrella of the Festival and the dedicated Festival volunteers who work so hard supporting the committee.

Our final thanks must go to the residents of East Preston, who never fail us with their support, and to all the visitors who come to the village to join in festivities. To see so many people having fun makes all the hard work worthwhile.
